Again, I used to do pixel graphics back in '79 -'80. It was a requirement back then and we grew up. Simple as that. Some people today think that retro is cool. It really is not for those of us that lived through it. It just means it looks old.

Not sure why you included 'my friend pedro' in a discussion on pixel graphics? At no point am I knocking on gameplay of the 80's with 2D or even side scrolling. I simply identify the lack of value of pixel graphics in games today as something the masses want or desire.

In so much as it is something we were stuck in doing in the past. Not something we ever desired to be held to, and was always something we strove to break away from. Sure anything can be a cool 'look it is retro' feel to it. But it still holds back most games.

Give Phobia Game Studio all due props on what they did with the Carrion game. I simply point out and will always point out pixel art is holding Devs back more than they imagine. They accept it at entry level and feel they can work within that from then on. Gameplay 8/10 art 3/10.
