Because unless I have worked on any games recently then I can't argue the merits of a game and how the pixel style doesn't do justice to modern games?

That’s just… so wrong. So many modern games have seen success with this style. Seriously, Shovel Knight was huge. Stardew Valley is absolutely MASSIVE. There’s loads of them, this looks and you’re one to throw stones if you haven’t done anything but complained.

Everyone keeps mentioning how some pixel games do well. They do well in-spite of the graphics not because of the graphics. They would more likely do much better if they had better graphics. simple as that.

Graphics don’t make a game.

Yet graphics can hurt a game. Which is the point of why pixel art is just not as valued as you and others might think it is. If you want a game to be sold to the masses and enjoyed by the masses then give them what they want. And most simply skip a pixel game regardless gameplay.

Again, Stardew Valley had 3.5 million sales and they still have 700,000 monthly active viewers. Go back to CoD, you should really wind it in when it comes to belittling developers on their release day for a game you haven’t even played because ‘boohoo graphics no shiny’
