There’s a late night coffee shop/bar right next to flat. It’s only been open a few weeks but it’s always hugely popular so I went in there. I’ve had a bad week at work, it’s lonely in there. Anyway - I told the lady behind the counter that I’d had a bad week. [1]
So she’s fixes me a spiked hot chocolate. She says “Take a seat, I’ll bring it over and it’s on the house for the first one. We’ve all been there.” Then she brings over my hot chocolate WITH A SHOT OF SOME SORT OF FIZZY DELICIOUS ALCOHOL, a smile and a wink.
That little act of kindness was honestly so AMAZING OMG WAIT SHE JUST BROUGHT ME ANOTHER SHOT AND OFFERED A HUG WHY ISN’T EVERYONE THIS LADY HOLY SHIT ALSO SHE HAS SUCH NICE EYEBROWS
I raise my hot chocolate to kind strangers that hug sad strangers. If you’re ever in little Hinckley, go there and spend your damn money and be kind as all heck to the ladies that work here. Tell them their brow game is on point.
