I think you are misunderstanding me. I haven't lost access to a Google account. I've lost access to an old YouTube account, which was accessed with a username, not a gmail account, in 2008.

Hmm, if it's a legacy channel, you need to link it to a Google Account to access it. Here's how: https://goo.gl/z8YXdy . If you don’t remember your old YouTube password, unfortunately there is no password recovery option for these accounts. Keep us posted.
