Can I just sit at the character selection screen and click every few minutes to not get disconnected or is this flawed? I heard rumors you will disconnect within 30 minutes regardless if you click or create a character.

ACTUALLY. You may need to log in 2 hours before hand and be placed in a queue. If you are lucky and the queue last 1 hour and 30 minutes you'll be the first to log on. Hnggg, so difficult!
