Curious that the "best person for the job" just happens to be men so much more often than women. That's what orchestras said too before they started using blind auditionshttp://gap.hks.harvard.edu/orchestrating-impartiality-impact-%E2%80%9Cblind%E2%80%9D-auditions-female-musicians …

Well it also happens that the best person for the job also happens to be women when its nursing or psychology. Women have more “tact” than men (probably because they talk about their emotions their entire life, meanwhile men have to “man it up”)

And that's what we call A PROBLEM The fact that men are expected to bottle their emotions is a very bad thing! Why are we not allowed to talk about it and have to pretend this kind of situation is fine?

Because douches will always exist. Its not about sexism (weird that the english language does not have a specific word like “machismo”) its about toxic people telling you “lol bro grow a pair and man it up” or “thats not what a lady should be doing”. They are douches, not sexist

Except that it's so pervasive that it prevents men from wanting to be nurses? Why is "they're just aholes" an acceptable excuse? What's wrong with publicly criticising these aholes and shaming the people who do that?

Because it won't change anything. You can't shame people into conformity. It only make them resist you and fight back. In fact it will most likely make it worse.

... Shaming people for going outside gender lines doesn't seem to have that effect I'm not sure I believe it would for those aholes

Uhh.. yeah it does. Just look at Pride parades. That whole thing is a rebellion against those who shame others into social sexual conformity.

Literally what are we talking about. Women are shamed out of computer science men are shamed out of being nurses. No one shames the people who shame them and whoops now there's a massive gender divide in those fields.

That's slightly different from a protest that started because of literal cops throwing people in prison for being gay or trans. A protest and then a riot were the only forms of recourse available

The point is that men who are jerks don't care about what you think of them. If you try to shame them then they will only fight back. Trying to bully a bully out of bullying will only make the bully a bigger bully. You can firmly stand up to bullies, but shaming them won't help.
