Per sources, one anthem idea being discussed: Leaving it up to home team on whether teams come out for the anthem; if teams do come out for the anthem, potential that teams could be assessed 15-yard penalties for kneeling.

The #NFL still doesn’t understand the players aren’t protesting the anthem - it’s a shame the NFL won’t use its influence to try to make things better for young black men & women in America. This is a joke.

It's also a shame rich spoiled pink nfl players cry and whine while making millions of dollars.

I agree. Penalty needs to be stiffer. Maybe a one game suspension for every player caught kneeling

Cool. NFL going to stop selling beer and food during the anthem as well? Whole stadium stops? And they will of course not have commercials during it so they can broadcast it live? It is so important. Cut the pre-game and commercials little and show it.

If the goal of the NFL is for the right and the left to come together and hate the NFL, then this is the best idea.

This is the definition of racism. Using a white-run institution to punish black athletes for participation in black activism is pure racism, nothing less.

😂🤣, then way don't all these poor put upon black millionaires start there own league and kneel and sit to there hearts content. Oh ya that would require work and some character something they have very little of.

Not at all, stay in the country. But they ARE at work doing there job. They want to kneel, sit, protest etc do it on their own time. Not while in trying to watch a game to relax and get away from the world.

If they do this, then this veteran is fucking done with the @NFL .They clearly don't understand why we serve. I've already ditched my @Seahawks season tickets.. There's much better things to do on Sundays anyhow.

How about an extra 3 points for whichever team, as a group, sings more patriotically, as determined by a representative of the Department for Homeland Security? It's no less idiotic...

Still think the least covered story in all of this that all those post 9/11 patriotic events at football games were PAID sponsorships by the US gov’t but the @nfl took all the credit for being good Americans.
