However, working conditions have been a problem for years now. We've seen constant turnover, extended vacancies, disruptive reorganizations, patterns of discrimination, inconsistent enforcement of policies, & low compensation.

Departments should be fully staffed. Career growth opportunities should be available & encouraged. Policies should recognize us as whole people striving to lead full, healthy lives & should be applied equitably.

Our goals align with many of the stated goals of & leadership. Especially in light of President Price’s commitment to equity & inclusion, we ask management to voluntarily recognize our union so that we can work in parallel & have a seat at the table.

We urge & to recognize our union & enter a collective bargaining process. We look forward to working together to improve our working conditions, make DUP stronger, & continue the work of publishing bold, vital scholarship.
