Hearing that Apple can get 120Hz Pro panels, but not 120Hz driver ICs. So they will either have to come up with a fix which will be difficult, wait for 120Hz driver ICs and delay the launch possibly significantly or launch with 60Hz. We are hearing they will launch with 60Hz.

Are you considering Nov 2020 ship dates already for the Pro's and the "significant" part would push into '21?
The original rumor was all would launch with 120hz panels running at 60 until possibly Apple unlocks them in the future. This would not be that if no IC lol.

I think the unlocking idea doesn’t apply when you need to switch out the driver ICs. Not sure on how long it would take to get the 10-bit 120Hz ICs. Looking into it.

I have not heard that the 11 Pro Max was 120Hz...but it is supposedly a hardware issue on the 12 Pro...

The thing is though, they have 120hz panels so they’re not saving money. They just don’t have driver IC’s to make them work. They were originally going to have 120hz but it wasn’t perfect so they decided to not do it.

no, Apple just don’t want to give you too much in one year, they will add 120hz as selling point next year

Apple gets their screens manufactured by Samsung. Samsung just added LTPO in their screens this year, which is added to the Note 20 Ultra. So of course Samsung is keeping exclusivity of the technology for at least 2020.
