The conclusion is essentially that when you encounter an ethical thought experiment that argues that your ethical intuitions are wrong, most of the time you should just go "Huh. Weird" and move on rather than update your sense of ethics.

Based on a notion of understanding suggested in https://sci-hub.tw/https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11098-018-1152-1 … (which I haven't read yet, but intend to), and citing https://faculty.ucr.edu/~eschwitz/SchwitzPapers/EthicsBooks.pdf …, which is one of my favourite papers, as empirical evidence for the plausibility of its conclusions.
