I know I’m white and my opinion doesn’t count, but it seems like instead of bashing people who are trying to support you for not doing it exactly right, you could say “Thank you for your support, and here’s what you can do to help even more...”

Don’t be so tone deaf that you can’t see this is a major gesture of goodwill from one of the most visible and well-received mayors in the country. The issues are real. We live it every day. But give her some credit for reaching out!
