I mean..... It’s still a job one chooses to do. Whether manipulated/lied to or not, they are following orders that should not be followed. It is a mercenary job of the most oppressive class on earth. I’m not an individualist, but either you get discharged or you’re a participant
I get what you’re saying. It’s more complicated than that and it’s a career path. It’s not just a simple choice to not follow orders. It’s far more serious than quitting or getting fired from a job. The results of which can be and are often horrific.

I totally get that, but US army is still an active belligerent force at every rank. That’s why a priority during Protracted Peoples War is winning the support of the masses by following int’l law, not torturing or killing prisoners unless it’s determined in people’s courts.
