Politicians aren't your friends
There is good reason why Kyle says this. As a politician, I have experienced a lot of other politicians who will fleece people for their vote, and it's difficult to tell the bad ones from few good ones.

I am friendly with most, but there's no way I can be friends with everyone. The way I go about things is that I treat you and your loved ones as I would treat my own. If I have the backs of the ones you love, you'll have the backs of the ones I love.

I go out of my way to be kind and considerate where I can be, but I'll never please everyone. I don't aim to be everyone's friend, just earn your respect and maybe I will earn your vote.
