Bloomington Indiana is considered one of the most liberal areas in all of Indiana, an oasis, really. This isn't the fault of the residents, this is a result of the @citybloomington wanting to be as hands-off as possible to keep a low profile and avoid offending anyone.
As a public figure within the district, it's been suggested to me that the hands off approach is because they only care about taking care of @IUBloomington. If, and only if, that is the case, I would like to point out the optics that this puts on both the city and university.
Is this scenario why I keep seeing tons of tv ads for IU touting the work they're doing on COVID research? It didn't occur to me that they're cultivating their own research subjects through questionable policies. Y'all stay safe up there.
