The level of simultaneous discovery in AI tools is wild. All this spooky magic bursting into view at the same time, after decades of work. Like how ppl toiled on telegraph tech for years and years and then Gray and Bell filed the first telephone patents on the exact same day.

It’s not really simultaneous discovery because the input data feeds are not independent, right? Everyone is reading the same papers and taking 1 step forward from those papers and publishing results. Lots of similar tech underneath the surface (transformers, VAC, diffusion, etc)

Advancements in AI are exciting and terrifying all at once. I came across this site that generates a weekly podcast purely by AI, with ultra-realistic voices. Current episode is Joe Rogan interviewing Steve Jobs: podcast.ai

Splitting the atom was an incredible achievement, but it lead to the atomic bomb. Inevitable no doubt, but is shows all advances are not good for the human race.

I've got the itch and I'm unashamed to scratch it. I feel like a whole new world is revealing itself right before our very eyes.
Strange how so many still think a slick product demo video is representative of the actual product.

With emergence a phenomena can appear that can't be understood by simply looking at its individual parts. When phenomena emerge from complex adaptive systems cause and effect are hard, if not impossible, to identify. Unpredictability there's something new.
