It's hard to remember while watching Lightfoot win 74-26, but just two months ago she was FAR from the favorite to even reach the general election, much less win it. No poll before February found her taking more than 5% of the vote in what was a very crowded primary

Lightfoot really caught fire in final weeks of February primary, which allowed her to quickly pass MANY opponents and enter general without having taken much flak. Another good reminder how much things can change in final weeks of a primary racehttps://www.dailykos.com/story/2019/2/27/1838165/-Chicago-set-to-make-history-with-its-first-black-woman-as-mayor …

Dem Pam Iovino's win gives us our first red-to-blue flip of the cycle. If Dems pick up 3 more state Senate seats in 2020, they'll take control for first time in over two decadeshttps://www.dailykos.com/stories/2019/4/2/1847267/-Daily-Kos-hails-Iovino-Win-in-first-red-to-blue-flip-of-the-cycle …

Want to feel old? The "crucial Waukesha County" jokes started from a Wisconsin Supreme Court race ... eight years ago.
