    So Kardashian is taking the credit for the work that two Black female lawyers have been doing for years. Yes, she helped fund them, but the actual hard work is being done by Brittany Barnett and Miangel Cody. As if this situation couldn't be more infuriating...

    Do people know that bail/bond was not supposed to be punishment but was supposed to be imposed to insure that folks returned for their court dates? I think a lot of people do not know this.

    Another fact: The United States is the only country other than the Philippines that *does not outlaw* the bail bonds industry because of how predatory it is. True American exceptionalism.

    This article is nuts. Should be national news. A dozen employees at a Florida Panhandle prison say inmates are being beaten/ starved by guards. And they say the guards use racist intimidation, like dangling toilet paper nooses, to keep black staff quiet.

    The goal of capitalism is not for everyone to have a job and escape poverty. The system in fact requires the existence of a cheap &/or slave labor force. I feel folks miss this in thinking policies are designed solely to "punish" ppl & not for the purpose of keeping folks poor.

    We tend to underestimate how much students can tell how well they're being taken care of. And yes, their confidence is often directly affected.
