    The denial that there is a often stems from a desire to preserve individual liberty. But the value of liberty cannot drive our approach to pandemics, since this will just make the pandemics worse. It is a misapplication of value.

    is an important value. Restricting liberty is bad - unless people are harming others. Unvaccinated people risk harming others. To prevent this, their liberty should be restricted. Applying the principle of liberty to is a misapplication.
