I applaud you for being awake in that ungodly hour
I used my eclipse glasses from 2017 and couldn't see a damn thing
Off topic query - any reason why, fuel being as cheap as it is, Starship doesn’t just carry extra so as to use retro-propulsion to bleed off a significant part of Mach 25 and put less heat load on the heat shield?
Fuel is cheap on the ground, it’s expensive when you have to carry it to space and back.
Fun fact: On Mars, you wouldn't need to speed the video up. You could capture a Martian lunar eclipse at true speed in an Instagram story.https://twitter.com/MaxFagin/status/1087402766698348544?s=19 …
Scott, a quick question/heads-up for you. I've never seen you mention Copenhagen Suborbitals, the group of amateurs who plan building their own rocket to send someone into space. They deserve your support! https://www.youtube.com/user/CphSuborbitals/ … http://copenhagensuborbitals.com/ http://www.facebook.com/CopenhagenSuborbitals …pic.twitter.com/XUaR3e80d5

I liked it a lot more last time when we picknicked to watch it. Instead of just another close up shot I tried a wide angle HDR, which creates a good sense for the three-dimensional feeling of the scenery. It had Mars in it as well at that time.pic.twitter.com/0WMhUQI8AY
What equipment did you use to capture this video? If you don't mind my asking?
