Pete Buttigieg is this election’s poster child for “progressive neoliberalism” — offering up platitudes about diversity while leaving untouched the very structures that oppress people. It’s time we left this kind of politics in the past.

The State of the Union is hurting because of the occupant of the White House, who consistently demonstrates contempt for the American people, contempt for Congress & contempt for our constitution. I cannot in good conscience attend tonight's sham

Democratic Party elites are so decrepit, stupid, lost, pointless, corrupted, and ossified that you couldn't credibly create morons and villains this venal and sinister in a work of fiction.

In a mostly Latino caucus site with 185 voters, wins 94% of the vote! Here’s the Sanders precinct captain going through the process of selecting the 9 delegates for the campaign they have earned with the big win. ¡Sí se puede!

When and I dreamt about the Muslim and immigrant community turning up for caucuses in Iowa for the first time, none of us could have imagined the kind of turnout we are seeing tonight. Thank you and others who worked tirelessly to make this happen 🙏🏾💜

Mass incarceration costs $182 billion a year in the United States. Imagine the peace we’d see if we invested that money in preventative programs and restorative justice practices.

Reading the details of Bloomberg buying his way to the debate stage is making me sick. He donated $300k to the DNC (legal max), $800k on the same day to the 'Dem Grassroots Victory Fund' (DNC & state Dem PAC). The fact that this is allowed is everything wrong with politics.

Watching Michael Bloomberg use Black lives lost to gun violence as the center of his presidential campaign ads when he was also a major proponent of Stop and Frisk, one of the most anti-Black agendas in history is certainly something.

it's kind of incredible that there is literally a Republican billionaire just trying to swoop in and purchase the Democratic nomination

There were ways to adjust the debate rules when black and Latino candidates were being excluded, but that didn't happen. The rules were only adjusted when the billionaire needed to participate. That seems wrong.

The GOP has long sought to exclude noncitizens from the redistricting process. Now Trump wants to go further, suggesting anyone who is not eligible to vote, including children, don't have to be counted toward apportioning representation.

The folks writing checks for a new Space Force are the same ones asking “how are you going to pay for” public college or healthcare. This is the richest country in the world. Our problem isn’t a lack of money. It’s a lack of good priorities. And that is something we can change.

Working musicians have seen stagnant or declining wages for decades, exacerbated by already paltry public funding further drying up. But recent battles show that musicians can organize and win even in a highly precarious and monopolized cultural industry.

Yes, I am disappointed that ending homelessness and childhood hunger in America isn’t top priority. We can and we must reorient our priorities as a nation.
