This is great, but it also makes me sad that 1) this 
infrastructure requires advocacy and special funding $, whereas 
infrastructure doesn’t, & 2) this @NYCParks maintenance won’t [I presume] include improved/safe design @ intersections.

This should be a historical landmark and maintained as such. It's not just the first bike path in NYC, it's the first bike path in the whole country, and possibly the world from what I can tell.
