    Finally, the historic — and historically teeth-shattering — #bikenyc lane on Ocean Parkway will be fixed! Thanks @MarkTreyger718 @BPEricAdams @NYCCouncil and #ParticipatoryBudgeting @PB_NYC https://nyc.streetsblog.org/2019/02/12/ocean-parkway-bike-path-to-get-long-overdue-fix/ … @StreetsblogNYC

This is great, but it also makes me sad that 1) this 🚲🚶🏾‍♀️infrastructure requires advocacy and special funding $, whereas 🚙 infrastructure doesn’t, & 2) this @NYCParks maintenance won’t [I presume] include improved/safe design @ intersections.

        1. Agreed, but I'm glad we all worked together to get this done 2. That might be more @NYC_DOT than Parks, so it's yet another ask for safe streets Also: 3. Once it's fixed, can @NYCParks PLEASE keep maintenance trucks off paths to keep them flat and keep #BikeNYC safe?

That's great. But, Ocean Parkway is still a highway.

This should be a historical landmark and maintained as such. It's not just the first bike path in NYC, it's the first bike path in the whole country, and possibly the world from what I can tell.
