The CPD believes that's what we the people want to see; entertainment, not information. They think you want to see two old men and their petty bickering, their manufactured differences, and their expensive suits. If they could stage a cage match, they would do it in a heartbeat.
In stead of questions like this: What would you do about X I'd like to see questions like this: What is your philosophy about X It would be much more informative, but, as you say, that's not what this is about.
And I would feel more comfortable answering questions like the latter. Too bad I won't be asked in that kind of setting.
