In the medium and long term this is a bad decision by & inquirer.com/politics/clout Currently only run in races where there are guaranteed spots for minority parties. This kind of action may make them consider running against Dems in other races.

NEW: A study found that overdoses double in communities after cops seize illicit opioids, providing the first empirical evidence that drug busts are associated with a spike in ODs. This is significant. Let’s unpack.

Since Rhode Island officials felt entitled to just about everything in Philly, I’m formally lodging this list of rude and absurd demands for Rhode Island officials on behalf of Philadelphians. You have three hours to fulfill all requirements.

has passed a Resolution on the Roosevelt Boulevard Subway unanimously!
It was introduced today, and the vote wasn't supposed to happen until the fall. Our brave Councilmembers took it up and voted anyways.

Working at Starbucks is great because once every 6 months your district manager will visit your store, watch you struggle understaffed to manage a line out the door, and respond by doing something extremely helpful like taking away your aux cord

it’s a union-driven scam to prop up a failing roadway, is what it is. drivers have rights & deserve roadway choice. DOT monopoly must end and its budget reworked to support charter highways, travel vouchers, and cybercommutes

The I-95 rebuild is impressive. It shows what we can do when we make something a priority.
On a completely unrelated note, Philadelphia schoolchildren are going to schools which have $5 billion of immediate repairs needed, including to remediate asbestos.

If you quit your job because your employer made your working conditions literally life threatening it takes unemployment at least 12 weeks to process the claim because they to verify it with the SAME EMPLOYER WHO MADE YOUR JOB LIFE THREATENING

Honored to speak at yesterday’s #savechinatown rally where more than 3,000 gathered and marched to protest the proposed arena.
Nearly 50 yrs since my parents stood against the construction of the Vine St Expressway, which tore the neighborhood in two, it’s now our turn.

Yes “lobbying “ is protected but it’s strange and wrong to make this argument when one side has spent an insane amount of money and had to pay fines for Ethics Board violations
Quote Tweet
This is the other weird thing, "Stop lobbying!" Lobbying is a constitutional right. Every single major business and institution in the city lobbies the city every day. So do private citizens. There's no picking and choosing of who gets to lobby.

what a shocking way to frame the story / put a thumb on the scale, when the city will continue to be unable to adequately fund its schools, rec centers, pools, streets, libraries, and so many other basic public services that Philadelphians should be able to rely on

And unsafe air is nothing new. Philly kids are 3x as likely to have asthma, and Black Philly kids are 5x as likely.
We live near polluting power plants, noxious highways, leaking gas infrastructure, and poisonous incinerators. We work in sweltering UPS trucks and toxic schools.

Workers and communities are on the front lines of the climate crisis. The air quality in Philly is “hazardous,” yet students and teachers were in school yesterday, and workers around the city are outside in dangerous conditions, without protection. Unhoused people are exposed.

Those vulnerable to poor air quality, including seniors and young children, should limit time outdoors if possible.
