Empirical articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals are not stories. They are records of science They should, w/ exquisite clarity for the intended audience, report the Q asked, the method used to answer the Q, the results, & what the results might mean They are not stories

Maybe they are just really bad stories.

I am sure @chrisdc77 would recognize the distinction between truthful and untruthful (e.g., deceitful) stories. We can have truthful story-telling as much as we can have untruthful record-keeping. Why then is he pointing at the _story_ as the problem?
