    this hurts more than words can explain. Kobe was my role model growing up, and was for so many others too. truly a transcendent, once in a lifetime type of figure. life is so fragile.

    i’m always somewhat surprised when i wake up and see i have a face and also a body in the morning. does not feel at all like “me”. it takes some level of recogition to realize that this is in fact me... and this happens every morning (or after every nap)

    The crazy thing is it seems almost natural for us to enjoy these things... as if somehow focusing our conscious awareness upon a random story or activity is beneficial for us in some way

    So much of modern life seems to be directly about escaping the reality we live in. Video games are a great example, movies are as well... we’d rather spend time scrolling through Twitter than in our own minds. I’m curious why this is fundamentally so appealing to us...

    obviously not the point of this tweet, but this is a great example of the powerful influence language has on perception. word choice, phrasing, and framing can turn almost anything from an objective idea or event into a positive concept or a negative one

    “losing/taking virginity” - turns sex into an object - places pressure on the decision - you don’t actually lose or take anything ? “sexual debut” - exciting - all focus is on u - suggests a musical number is involved
