In TX she has to force her patients into a medically unnecessary ultrasound. She forces her patients to see & listen to the ultrasound. She has to force patients to listen to a description of the ultrasound. She is forced to recite a medically inaccurate script to her patients.
.@dr_moayedi is then forced to make her patients wait 24 hours before actually having their abortions, even though waiting is medically unnecessary &, as she said, "goes against my better judgment as a physician."
The cruelty of these anti-abortion laws & the ppl who support them will never not infuriate me. What they put not just ppl who want abortions through, but the ppl who provide them; the ppl who are forced to do what they know to be wrong. The cruelty is overwhelming.
As @dr_moayedi said during her @OversightDems hearing testimony:

I went as support with a young friend to a clinic 2 1/2 hours away from our home. We had to get a hotel for the 24 hour waiting period. It was excruciating for an already emotionally devastated young woman. Many years have passed since, but I'll never forget it.
This is so painful. I had a miscarriage last month at over three months, and chose to have an abortion immediately, which I could easily do in Seattle. Waiting an hour was excruciating, thinking about waiting a whole day makes me physically ill.
