Well, we are still tweaking how it works but as I said in an interview PvP is kinda like issuing a chalienge to someone. If you don’t want to deal w them they can’t keep killing you over and over. Todd is better suited to explain the specifics

So basically like you taunt the other player, they get a notification for accepting PvP, and if they accept, you’re both able to kill each other?

I'm assuming that it probably works like other flagging systems; players can flag themselves as PvP or not, and you are unable to harm/effect someone not flagged.

This seems like something that could have been said at the reveal that would have calmed a lot of the angst at the game by people who are worried that their Fallout experience is going to be ruined by being killed by a rando named XxBadMotherfuckerxX. Just say PvP is optional.

But in the gameplay trailer a random guy just shot a rocket at the player from a decent distance? Are you saying that before that started, they walked up to each other and agreed to take each other on? That part just wasn't shown to us? Cus that would make a world of difference..

I think they might have just done that for trailer purposes to make it more immerse.

I’m thinking it’s pvp can kill you one time, but after that I’m guessing can opt out any more for awhile, or while your logged in. So the dangerous part can get ganked once, but after that not so much

Seems like having PVE-only servers would be a better option. If I don't want to be challenged I shouldn't have to be, and people who want to PvP should among their own kind rather than have me ignore them.
