The Democratic Alliance (DA) will this weekend launch its inaugural Free State Future Leaders Programme. This Programme which runs annually is aimed at identifying, upskilling and developing future leaders who will serve to the benefit of the Free State and South Africa.
After successfully piloting the Programme in 2020 where 13 candidates benefitted from the initiative, the 2021 edition of the Programme will further enhance on the gains made to date and provide an opportunity for an additional 17 future leaders in the Free State.
The candidates of the Future Leaders Programme benefit from having to conduct a series of written assignments, have to produce a leadership project, have the opportunity to benefit from one-on-one mentorship and partake in a series of online virtual seminars.
These seminars include prominent business leaders, politicians, journalists and lecturers from across South Africa.
As we celebrate Youth Month, this initiative is specifically aimed at our youth in the Free State who are often relegated to a life of unemployment and misery due to a lack of political leadership.
If we can plant a tree of hope today for these future leaders of our province, then they will bear the fruit of opportunity tomorrow.
It is a privilege for the DA to have the opportunity to unearth and develop tomorrows generation of leaders who we hope will serve to better the Free State and add value to the country in a meaningful manner.
