My webcomic is a passion project, but that doesn't make it a side hustle. Due to strict content standards, I cannot be on webtoons, but I hope you can support it nevertheless on tapas or comicfury. #notasidehustle
The Concept Art Association is raising money to hire a lobbyist to take the fight against AI image generators to DC. This is the most solid plan we have yet, support below.
i hate the ethical issues with AI art but i'd rather it exist as is than disney control art copyright legislation even MORE. you wanna be terrified? be terrified on how disney and universal will use this against fanartists.
hes a coward for fearing AI art and hes too stupid to realize that what hes saying is going to kick every fanartist like him in the ass, but its okay, he already got in the industry so its ok to tighten copyright law against the rest of us.
rj palmer is promoting a lobbyist who has supports from disney and universal is nasty honestly. he has so much reach and hes using it to actively benefit big companies under the guise of protecting US artists. i think he might ACTUALLY ruin art copyright with his tantruming
its a joke, its a gimmick, its a novelty. no amount of improvement will teach a computer to understand the world the way a human does, because we don't know *how* humans do it. it will always be fundamentally broken. just laugh it into obscurity, don't bring disney into this
AI art often has some incredibly fundemental errors. errors where you'd have to go back to the drawing board to fix. it's not going to give people a new job to fix AI art when it's so hideously inconsistent and error prone. you'd literally save time just redrawing it.
you can't take something out of AI art wholesale. its flawed beyond belief. and to fix it, you need to understand the medium. the style that AI art is trying to replicate. you need that skill to fix its flaws.
any serious piece done thru ai art, a tool, has fundemental flaws. this isn't about if it is art or not, it is that for its supposed strengths, it is unable to hold up to any actual investigation. that's why its a gimmick, a joke!
ai art is just a facade, a charade, pretending to understand what makes art, but is nothing more than a flawed facsimile. it doesn't understand anything beyond what pixels are statistically likely to be next to each other. and for that reason, it will never replace anyone
we shouldn't be resorting to legal avenues. that will only invite the likes of disney to further pull a chokehold on all artists by tightening copyright laws to benefit them and them only.
the more i realize it, the people who think ai art will replace artists are the ones who wouldn't pay or put the time into hiring one anyway. and any serious people who need artists, will not be satisfied by ai art, because it is fundementally flawed
i understand the want to legislate away AI art but we don't need the music industry's mentality and theres a very real fear any legislation will only benefit large companies like disney
one thing i like about art fight is the easy access i have to draw other peoples characters. sometimes i forget i can just draw other peoples ocs if i want to no strings attached
My spouse and I are still going through the game pretty slowly so no spoilers please, but I finally evolved my Sprigatito! I called mine Misha, after my webcomic character :3c
