    You are correct none of us asked for cancer, therefore, we have no choices. That's why I believe this topic needs more discussion. So cancer patients feel ok sharing their feelings, their truths and feeling they don't have to hide behind words like ”fighter” or ”warrior”

    Like we deal with cancer “courageously” — um, no, it’s not courageous, it’s either deal or die ? What the hell else are you gonna do ? Give up? Being courageous is doing something you don’t have to do that’s hard ... dealing with cancer may be hard, but you don’t get to choose

    I was a cancer patient. I'm not a fighter, battler or survivor, I had it, I got on with treatment, dealt with the aftermath and it's gone. 'Patient' is appropriate and devoid of hyperbole.

    there must be better nouns to describe us cancer patients, maybe we are in the end we will be right there with our loved ones, living on in the memories we have. It’s not that we didn’t try hard enough, or have the right attitude, or gave up. We did the best we could do.
