People spend their attention when they look at your content. Adding lots of links can feel like you’re being helpful, but it’s expensive. It costs attention. Be careful, it’s more important to be useful than comprehensive.

What do you think are some of the ‘disability admin’ challenges that non-disabled people don’t necessarily see? Things like booking train assistance, chasing up prescriptions, having to pay for new medical evidence... looking for as many examples as possible!

My child says this is "a person with a nose sitting down who is poorly and a tiny mouse"

A very crude drawing of something sausage like, with what could be a nose.

I think I'm getting better at "influencing" and "having conversations with stakeholders" but I think I find it more stressful. I feel the weight of those moments more than I used to.

Able bodied people, if you ever want to truly understand what it's like to be disabled, don't do that use-a-wheelchair -for-day thing, just spend an afternoon calling businesses to ask about accessibility.

"The only thing this tells you is that pavements are bad at recording data" said someone with more smarts than me - can anyone remember who?

A paved path goes around a grassy place. On the grass is a dirt track made by people walking over it, bypassing the paved path.

The train I had intended to get home was “unable to accommodate wheelchair users” due to the width of its doors. Later train for me then. It’s been a long week... 😔

A screenshot reading “the 17:21 London Marylebone to Bicester North is unable to accommodate wheelchair users. This is because of the width of the doors and the gangways. Chiltern Railways station staff will assist you in finding an accessible service to complete your journey”
