The ONLY reason conservatives voted for Trump is because he said he'll appointment conservative judges that will overturn Roe v. Wade. If Trump never made that claim, conservatives would never vote for him. To a conservative, no topic is more polarizing than abortion.

Rick Wilson is a nevertrumper. He was invited on that news segment to discuss the new PAC he and others have formed, to oppose Trump in the 2020 election. He didn't defend Trump at all - he's trying to defeat Trump.
