Two out of three, the third in a *very* red district, I’ll take it! Happy birthday to me, thanks Virginia voters!

Hey, hey, it’s my birthday! 🎉 The Governor was thoughtful enough to give me three special elections, so if anyone’s looking for a last-minute gift, I’ll take wins by @AaronRouseVaBch, @HollySeiboldVA, and @harris4va! (In 2017, it was Cheryl Turpin & Rylant Washington specials.)

Thank you for taking the time to make these trips. This is a system that’s out of sight, out of mind for too many people. We should make sure the 90% who eventually come home to our communities have the tools & will to succeed when they do.

Another Christmas made merry and bright thanks to , who printed these lovely (and very niche) fridge magnets that my daughters designed, as a gift to me. (Don’t worry, there are lots, I’m planning to share!) Tell the truth, : are you secretly actually Santa?

This boy was executed—hanged in public, in the streets. This barbaric regime must be stopped.

2nd execution of innocent protesters. 23 yr old #MajidrezaRahnvard Human rights activists say he was brought to court without a lawyer and bearing signs of torture. Regime we have taken note. These are your last days. #Iran #IranRevolution

Great turnout at ’s annual Latkepalooza party at today! Del Simon, saying it’s more important than ever that we have strong voices in Richmond protecting our rights now that SCOTUS won’t, announces he will run for re-election in 2023. Thank you! 🙏

First tweet didn’t take. So, again, thank you @marcussimon for being a great #LatkePalooza host. And thank you to @clareanddons for venue. Marcus, politics is weird but, for all the challenges of office, a highlight for me will remain the chance to having met you and your family.

Cottage cheese, a saga: 1️⃣Growing up in LA, the yellow tub of Knudsen’s creamy cottage cheese was 😋 2️⃣I moved to TX, & then Virginia. Cottage cheese was by other brands—salty & slimy, like kids growing water beads. 🤢 3️⃣I just found and it’s fantastic! 😋 /fin

Can someone bring me up to speed on this #BidenWedding turmoil? Did the wedding guests storm the Capitol & try to violently overthrow the government? Were Russian spies there? Did they give away classified docs as wedding favors? Why do I care? Mazel Tov to the happy couple, btw!

Thank you! This is a hard job. I know what sacrifices you make to serve, and we’re so fortunate to have you staying on. Keep up the great work, thank you for keeping our community safe while also fair and just!

I'm running for reelection to protect the extraordinary progress we've made in just three years in reforming the criminal legal system. cc @Taniel @RealJusticePAC @davidminpdx @NewVAMajority @johnlegend @vidabjohnson @tomperriello @CunningCindy @theappeal twitter.com/parisa4justice…

Great work by removing barriers that make it hard to get a record expunged! This kind of common-sense idea how to make the criminal legal system function better is exactly why I supported her from the first minute, and am so proud of her to this day!

Polls are open throughout Virginia, and here in Falls Church City where the only thing on the ballot is re-electing our great Congressman , there’s been a fairly steady little stream of voters coming through. Maybe 30-40 have voted so far.

Reading ’s No Country for Eight-Spot Butterflies, and I want to just nibble tiny crumbs of it at a time it’s so exquisite—but also, I can’t stop devouring it. As hopeless as the world feels these days, it’s guiding me to a pinpoint hopeful view of what it could be.
