Congratulations ! We're looking forward to updates on the incredible transition beavers make to this southern site. A matrix of wetlands should be much welcomed by 's grass snakes, demoiselles, dragonflies and damselflies, bats, small mammals, storks...

The benefits of are well understood, however these habitats have diminished to <1% globally. Beaver wetland restoration has repeatedly show an increase in floral and faunal diversity and abundance, boosting resilience and function of ecosystems 💧

As prepare for 's first enclosed reintroduction of beavers, provides a reminder that these vital, global life support systems are disappearing a staggering 3 times faster than forests - 📸,

With a growing “waiting list” for landowners to acquire the latest “must have accessory”, , we’re pleased that will this year join the collection of counties that have reintroduced these ecosystem engineers!

Excellent news that have been reintroduced to a site in Exmoor, Somerset! We're very excited to see the benefits beavers bring to the Lowther reintroduction site this year.

This beautiful and informative film is a great introduction to understanding "why matter". Wetland ecologist Mark focusses on the beavers' introduction to a 2.8 ha plot in 2011, which is now estimated to store 650K litres of water!

Beavers benefit nature, creating wetlands for other animals to thrive - but sometimes flooding occurs where it's not ideal. Here's our first flow control device of 2020 to help stop paths flooding. It sets a water level behind a dam that still allows beavers to use the site.

Out of 1,700 adults polled, 76% were in favour of being reintroduced But to make any reintroduction a success 100% of us need to work together to under an appropriate management framework that addresses legitimate concerns & supports those that may be adversely affected

Protecting a tree from browsing is simple, inexpensive and quick. Follow these three steps; ✅Wrap the tree with wire-mesh leaving space for it to grow. ✅Pin the mesh wrap into the ground. ✅Test your handy work to make sure it’s secure.

We simply can’t replace the multitude of responsive engineering techniques that this incredible keystone species can bring to restore our river and wetland ecosystems. Thanks for the candid update !

Beaver management in action! Beaver Deceivers are a proven, cost-effective flow device used to prevent the damming of culverts. By applying techniques such as this, potential beaver-human conflicts can be prevented, whilst enabling to flourish from presence.

Beavers have an incredible ability to regenerate streams and rivers. Enhancing aquatic plantlife, creating channels to slow the flow of catchments, and enriching the complexity and biodiversity of our freshwater ecosystems. Thanks for sharing !

A great descriptive response from , on how he envisions the Lowther release site will change once the settle in. Beavers create the complex habitats needed to support a diversity of invertebrates, something we're looking forward to witnessing and recording!

The 27 acre enclosure in which will be released on the Estate is currently a mix of grazed grassland, wetland and deciduous woodland. How do you imagine this view to look one, five or twenty years after release? 📸 J. Bliss ()

This is our beck after last night's heavy rain. There are quite a few trees fixed in the watercourse. Each one slows a little bit of flood water down. It has no impact on the farming of the land but if replicated county wide would really help with flooding downstream

Lots of publicity about this yesterday (and today). Pleased to see it was overwhelmingly positive. Yes there are legitimate concerns that need to considered. But this is exciting and doable.
