You both are wrong: - Putin was hard with Netanyahu, telling him off for bombing the T4, 50 meters away from a Russian position. - The day Russia gives up on Israel, Tel Aviv will tremble. Israel needs Russia, a balancer player in Syria.https://twitter.com/Joyce_Karam/status/994632720411082754 …

Why has Russia refused to supply Syria with S-300 and put to bed any future strikes?

Because S-300 make no difference if not well protected and can be destroyed from afar. Also, Russia is not part of Israel-Iran struggle and can't deliver a game changer to Syria for now.

Doesnt Russia have a self-interest in weaking Iran in Syria and thus silently approved Israel's attack on Iranian targets? Pushing Iran out of Syria may force Syrian govt to come to the negoatiation table: Russian and Iranian interests diverge on this point.

Russia can't and doesn't want to push Iran out of Syria. But Russia is an an Arab country neither part of the Israeli-Iranian struggle. Russia wants a stable Syria for its interest and the one of its allies. Syria and Israel are both Russian allies.
