2) between 1866 and 1897 for being Muslim. This is one of the biggest tragedies of Greece's modern history. But as a patriot, I don't see Hellenism as being synonymous with Christianity, but think like our Ancient Athenian philosophers who defined Hellenism as one who felt Greek.

3) These people all unanimously support Assad and despite being away from Greece for 100+ years, they still speak Greek with a Cretan dialect and observe cultural traditions, with obviously Islam as faith instead of Greek Orthodox. They mostly live in Al-Hamidiyah near Lebanon.
