Just a thought. I think Marx's sole enduring legacy: he was the last classical economist. The bitter irony is similar to that wag's line that Keynes was solving western economics in theory while Hitler was doing it in fact. Future's bleak if even now we can't get the point.

Marx is celebrated for all the wrong things. What he should be recognized for is carrying on the pre-occupations of his classical predecessors. That and his obsessive forensics on accounting practices.
