And the babies who screech and have seizures? Also, apparently not all babies even GET anesthesia, so THEY FEEL EVERY BIT.

adequate anesthesia is not possible at that age, and the pain continues for weeks (and a lifetime) afterward leave it to the child to decide when he gets to be 18, when anesthesia is possiblehttps://twitter.com/Cukullen/status/1069003042891145216 …

There is anesthesia for babies as well, it’s just not warranted for circumcision.

Well rest it. You have to understand that doctors know what’s best for their patients. You don’t. Your conspiracy theory that doctors and parents want to inflict pain on their beloved newborn son makes no sense whatsoever. Maybe only when feminists will take over

"doctors know what’s best for their patients" You'd be surprised what $ can motivate. A doctor's practice is a business. The doctor's wife expects that since she married a doctor, their lifestyle should include nice home, holiday home, expensive cars. Someone must pay for that

A typical circumcision generates ~$2500 for a clinic/practice. "Routinely" do 5 or 10 or 20 per week & you're sitting on a neat cash cow to help cover base expenses. Use wily marketing: Throw scary words at parents about 'penile cancer' or 'HIV'. They trust that white coat.

HIV IS a scary word and so is penile cancer.

And both are easily preventable and treatable without amputating healthy flesh from babies. But teaching proper hygiene and safe sex practices doesn't make doctors money when they can tell parents the "best" way to prevent it is through neonatal circumcision.

Even the American Cancer Society pleaded unsuccessfully with doctors to stop using 'penile cancer' as justification for circumcision, that those claims are nonsense. The HIV claims are also dubious, & if you're circumcised you still must wear a condom anyway.pic.twitter.com/FNxpKSSnAc
