It works fine in newborns. Tylenol for them is way more potent than in adults.

I've thought a great deal now about whether the age of consent for
#circumcision should be 18 or 21, I've settled on 21 for several reasons. One is too many 18yos aren't quite mature enough to not be subject to manipulation from adults, community,or wily marketing aimed at teens
in @circmovie there is a young man who very much regrets having been cut at 18 or 19, as i recall. the doctor lied to him and finally didn't charge him.

Statistically if you haven't started smoking by 21, you likely never will. But many do start smoking at +/- 18. In religious communities, at 18 you'll still be heavily subjected to conditioning like threats of ostracization from the community, or to your parents brainwashing.
