1/ The reality is #Trump has laid bare the weakness of the #US empire. The US cannot attack #Iran and cannot serve the geopolitical ambitions of its ME allies, but couldn't say so. #Obama wasn't a dovish president, he was a realist and this is why he struck a smart deal with Iran

2/ #US has been circling the Islamic republic of #Iran ever since its inception. It initiated the Iraq/Iran war, went to war on countries neighbouring Iran directly or indirectly, it even started the Yemen war during deal negotiations, all this to save itself a direct war on Iran

3/ #Iran will be #Trump's moment of truth, both in terms of domestic and foreign policy credibility. This of course if Trump is ever capable of recognizing that truth does in fact exist.

4/ If #Trump doesn't go to war, he will lose all credibility among the hawks in his own party, and #Iran, unlike Korea, won't allow him to save face. If Trump goes to war, it will be the end of his presidency because there is substantive aversion to foreign wars among his base.

5/ On the intern'l scene, if #Trump doesn't go to war on #Iran, he risks exposing the weakeness of the #US empire, even among America's staunchest allies. If he does go to war, he risks the disintegration of US client states in the Gulf and the fracturing of US global alliances.
