My latest: Don't listen to the siren calls against populism. What we desperately need now is real populism - of Extinction Rebellion, of Greta Thunberg and the school strikes, of a Green New Deal and climate emergencies to save us from the abysshttps://www.jonathan-cook.net/blog/2019-05-14/real-populism-is-the-answer-to-climate-crisis/ …

Prisoner 1: Protests are all we have. Prisoner 2: But what about escape? Prisoner 1: No, no, protests are all we have. Prisoner 2: Destroying the prison? Prisoner 1: Sorry, it’s just protests. That’s it. Prisoner 2: What about going completely insane?

Which one of these two prisoners is the warder most likely to feel comfortable with?

If the prison represents the Earth, what in this analogy does 'escaping' or 'destroying' the prison mean? And if the prison doesn't represent the Earth, what is the relevance of your analogy?

the prison is political economy where wealth presents itself as “an immense accumulation of commodities”--
the choice is:
to save capitalism by commodifying all of nature in the #GreenNewDeal
or
to save the planet/humanity by overcoming commodification and returning to nature
