Why is 'Cultural Marxism' so offensive?
Because it encapsulates a crucial and disastrous transition in the evolvement of 20th century Left thinking.... https://www.gilad.co.uk/writings/2019/3/30/why-is-cultural-marxism-so-offensive … #Labour #Corbyn #antisemitsm #Left #Marxism

a "counter-hegemonic discourse" is still a hegemonic discourse--that is, an ideology, exactly what Marx opposed

for Marx Ideology (i.e. discourse) is precisely the problem; Marxist movements have been built on the oxymoron of Marxist ideology; this is why Marx repeatedly said he was no Marxist.

Nop, ideology & discourse aren't the same, ideology may be 'a discourse' but not necessarily! Ideology is a system of ideas. Discourse is a set of boundaries. What you do here is turning Marx into a cultural Marxist. However, I agree with that Marx and Marxism are contradictory.

neither ideology nor discourse are unconditioned & authoritative, as they present themselves-they reflect the censorship & conditioning of thought prescribed by prevailing social forces--communism for Marx is freedom won by overcoming the abstraction imposed by the commodity form

Non of that has any relevance to the article or my argument .. I can’t even follow your thread of thoughts as you bounce constantly from one position to the other ..

just saying, Marx agrees w you--the goal of replacing one "discourse"/system of domination with another is exactly what Marx opposes-political emancipation is no human emancipation--the 1843 "Judenfrage" is programmatic for all Marx's work--nobody reads it https://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1844/jewish-question/ …
