Why are you so keen to say that they are the same thing? Like, what is in it for you? Yes they are both mutilation, but you are completely ignoring the reasons behind why they are performed which are what make them utterly different from each other. One is a barbaric act...

...specifically designed to stop women from enjoying sex (FGM), the other is literally nothing to do with that. One is about men asserting pathetic dominance over women in a disgraceful, power-hungry, unstable way (FGM), the other is nothing of the sort.

Plenty of dudes I know are circumcised and like it because it’s easier to clean their dicks...& you think that’s the same as women having their clitorises & vaginas mutilated so they can never experience any pleasure from sex? If the answer to that is yes, then this is pointless.

So clearly you agree that FGM is bad...right? So, genuinely, what are you arguing about? I don’t get it - are you just annoyed that every time someone mentions FGM they don’t also mention MGM? Like, it’s not possible to have a convo about one without also mentioning the other?

I can almost guarantee that the guys who are mutilating women’s genitals to destroy their chances of sexual pleasure aren’t justifying it by virtue of the fact that male circumcision exists (which in no way has the same effect on men). I don’t think you’ve thought it through.

you’re wrong. Psychologists have long known about the somatic trauma from infant circumcision, and some suggest that subconsciously the infant blames the pain on the mother- who was supposed to protect him from being scalpel raped. This can then be projected into adult misogyny
