I also tire of those who make accurate critiques but put no thought into how the flaws can be changed. It's easy to say this isn't working. It's really hard to say what WOULD work. I asked Chomsky that at a talk. He had absolutely no advice at all. It was pathetic.

the first thing that made me suspicious of chomsky is that he pretends the JFK assassination never happened, he ignores the cia, and everything the govt does is automatically a direct order from the prez.

It’s worse than ignoring cia. He gives it institutional impunity, by extending plausible denial as a timeless pris fix e rather than a relationship evolving both with and without contestation through varied highly revealing historical contexts and core sampings

Justice Seeker @helena_jennieHis protectiveness about CIA is curious. During "An Evening with Noam Chomsky, The War on Terror," held at MIT he admitted CIA was deeply involved in training the mujahideen in Afghanistan. He did so without mentioning Osama bin Laden, with whom the CIA worked closely for years pic.twitter.com/BtT6vrNzXbShow this thread2 replies 5 retweets 7 likes -

"Little evidence" that the CIA is a rogue branch of the US government. So in other words, he totally missed the Bay Of Pigs, the Indonesian coup, and countless assassination attempts on foreign leaders. Interesting.

He is not saying the cia isnt doing any if those things, cmon. He is saying they are within a larger system of power that is not inconsistent with the power establishment in business or larger american society. He doesnt "admit" it, he clearly says it.

Since, at least the Korean war days, the CIA has trafficked drugs into poor and marginalized communities. They actively decimate critical thinking on many fronts, one of many horror shows. I'm not sure it's safe for someone like Chomsky to take a clear stand against them.pic.twitter.com/rHEDZynwiI
