There was one case of a moyel who did that and the reason it got so much attention is Jews everywhere were all horrified. I’ve been to dozens of brisses, and only ever seen moyels using sterile technique.

@RedRabbit00340 Sorry but even as an adult, 30ish years after, it was my mother I confronted, not my father. It's the maternal instinct that's supposed to protect a child from harm, and it's the mother that the infant bonds with around the time of their birth.
traditional if not natural role is that mothers nurture, fathers protect. circumcision is the betrayal of a son by his father, traditionally to the elder males or the Father god. @Newsigmund's point is that infant feels betrayed by the mother (breast feeding becomes difficult).
