I've wondered that myself. I recently encountered someone who had been deployed to Turkey to do Syria-related stuff... she was just utterly ignorant of broader geopolitical issues (& was intel!!). Sadly i think just plain blind unawareness & lack of exposure.
@BradRHoff @AngeloJohnGage would you kindly explain point of view of US military deployed to Syria? have they been brainwashed to oppose Syrian govt? how do they rationalize their deployment? is there any limit to "just following orders"?
