No, Glick’s book quite clearly documents the roles of all people involved in the medicalization of male infant circumcision, not just Jewish ones. Yes, certain Jewish drs player a key role, but they weren’t the only ones responsible for the mainstreaming of circumcision.

i didn't say the only ones. and the puritanical impulse of US (& jewish, as the Gore Vidal quote suggests) doctors encompasses more than masturbation. the cause of ending genital mutilation need not entail the promotion of masturbation.

US doctors saw circumcision, as Maimonides & Philo Judaeus did, as a means of inhibiting sexuality in general, and not just masturbation. as Karl Marx observed, USA is a nation with a jewish soul. predictably, inhibition of healthy sexuality gave rise to new forms of perversity.

notably normalization of "oral sex," today prevalent where it was considered aberrant, & not just in puritanical US, a few generations ago. "genital kiss" was promoted amongst those for whom the sex act was unsatisfactory--just as circumsized US is #1 in STDs, so too in this area

I’m not sure about you, but as an intactivist, my goals are to end the forced genital cutting of all males. While it’s true that interested Jewish drs play a key role in perpetuating this practice, I have no interest in vilifying Jewish people as a whole.
