8) Israel Anti-Boycott Act currently in Congress sets new standard for deference to Israel in national government-criminalize any U.S. citizen “engaged in interstate or foreign commerce” who supports boycott of Israel or “requesting the furnishing of information” regarding it

US govt is currently engaged in many forms of unconstitutional activity that has not been struck down in the courts: war powers (since WWII), many different post-9/11 legislations

Look at it like this — a criminal statute would be created if this ever passed. If a person were to be arrested, tried, and convicted pursuant to this law, then he/she would have a defense that would immediately challenge the law’s validity

I can’t speak to the law of other countries, but in the US the Supreme Court has already ruled on the subject of boycotts — and declared them to be a form of constitutionally protected speech
