Russia has reached the end of the road in Syria, so Damascus will continue to fight on with its remaining allies https://ejmagnier.com/2018/05/28/russia-has-reached-the-end-of-the-road-in-syria-so-damascus-will-continue-to-fight-on-with-its-remaining-allies/ …pic.twitter.com/Kro1GWFVKq

I think you're being a bit naive here Elijah. Russia does understand the US only understands force, but it also understands that it is not itself the Soviet Union and has but a fraction of the power. They have many more battles to fight with the US in Ukraine, Central Asia etc.

I second this statement. To say that Russia is "acting as if it does not know” something is quite bizarre. This is the same country that lost 27 million people liberating Europe from Nazism. If Syria was Russia’s only headache... Russia is “God” who must liberate everyone?

Just to make things clear: Russia didn't"liberate everyone in Syria". Russia's AF was effective due to effective ground forces. However, Russia's deal with Israel/USA is not suitable to Damascus national security. Russia wouldn't want to lose some of its territory and so is Syria

What fits with Russia doesn't necessary fit with Syria. That is a fact and there are differences of objectives since 2015 to date. It is normal that Russia and Syria have different strategic goals and objectives.

Yes this is a fact, Russia acts in its own interests first & foremost. But Syria had its own problems before the war that ultimately paved the way for the takfiri invasion. These problems needs to be sorted out first of all (population/economy), and no tanks can help here.

Syria was subject to Saudi campaign of influence over decades before 2011 just as Ukraine was systematically propagandized for 2 1/2 decades b4 2014--Syrian friend left 1999 could already see poor Syrians returning from sponsored study in Saudi as fanatic Wahhabists
