I only bought MH to get some Commander stuff. TBH, that's all I really buy any sets for.

Overall positive, but I really feel like they don't like */1 creatures. Lava Dart, Plague Engineer and Wreen & Six all at the same time were a bit much. The other cards are awesome. Most of the forces are great, goblins got some love, and all the other great cards...

The prohibitively expensive nature of the format was probably helped slightly, but other than that not much.

My answer was "Negative" but to clarify, the set overall is well-designed. The IMPACT is negative.

That's a no from me chief(fess?) - Increased furthermore the entry price of the format (for competitive decks), urza which is a mistake, hogaak which we don't even talk about. At least it was a good draft set (not as good as UMA sadly)

MH1 changed the landscape of Modern and definitely made a mark. Hogaak aside I voted for neutral as it has given more interaction for the decks that want it and revived old archetypes (W&6) or created new ones (Urza).

I think it was positive in terms of gameplay and deck diversity, but it also pushed me out of the format by making it too expensive, so I voted neutral.

Besides Hogaak and maybe Urza most of the tools provided were interactive and helped fair decks. I liked the effect on modern from MH overall and I'm down for an MH2 so long as Wizards actually applies the lessons they learned about free spells.
